Episode 5 - Gluten, Gluten and more Gluten.
Today Dr Scott Wustenberg and I talk through the how and why Gluten is an issue for so many people and some of the common misconceptions about Gluten sensitivity. A lot of people assume that the only symptoms of gluten intolerance is bloating, research is now showing that people can have neurological symptoms after eating wheat and not have any bloating, or experience symptoms days after eating gluten.
There is a great book called Grain Brain that covers this topic in depth.
Scott and I also talk through the time frame it takes for your immune system to stop reacting to Gluten (or any inflammatory trigger) which is a lot longer than most people think.
We also go over gut bacteria and how different species can work together as a whole and not just individual cells through a process called quorum sensing
